Adopting a rescue dog or cat can bring a wonderful addition to your home…… sometimes there is a transition period, as the rescue and the humans get to know each other…… But once the animal learns that they can relax and trust you, the bond is incredibly strong.
The behaviour of rescued animals has been studied, and there are distinct phases that they go through… This is sometimes called the ‘3 3 3’ rule…..Help is available for you along the way either to prevent unwanted behaviours, or help the animal adjust. Or, sometimes to help the humans adjust to the animal!
